Traverse

animation, installation, projection mapping, public art

Originally presented at Canal Convergence Local Light 2019, Traverse is a generative video installation that uses projection mapping to span the east and south facing windows of the Canal Convergence Storefront. The installation uses five different projectors synchronized by a computer. As the projected entities traverse the length of the installation, they accumulate and emit particles into the virtual environment. The movement and parameters of the virtual environment are stochastically generated by a computer in real-time to ensure that the artwork will never repeat.
